Getting started
Take control of your learning
You've got your L plates – you’ll be keen to get started
learning to drive. This is your chance to be a good driver, to make
sure you have the physical and mental skills to get your driving
licence, keep it, and avoid harming yourself and others.
To do this, you need to take the initiative and get actively
involved in your learning, with the help of your
parent/supervisor.
The keys2drive approach encourages learner drivers to
Find Their Own Way to
learn to drive a car, in order to make it feel more like reality.
The keys2drive free
driving lesson will help you and your
parent/supervisor get a better understanding of how to approach the
learning process and prepare for P plate driving.
Remember that learning to drive is hard, but it shouldn’t be
painfully difficult. Meaningful learning takes sustained effort,
and involves going outside your comfort zone!
LOOK BEHIND YOU!
Rear view mirrors for parents/supervisors
Learning to drive is easier and safer if the person
supervising can see the road behind.
An extra, adhesive mirror can be easily fitted to the
windscreen, giving both the driver and passenger their own personal
rear view.
Adhesive mirrors are available from most auto-parts
stores.
