What test/s do I have to take?
Hazard Perception Test (HPT)
What's on the test?
The HPT consists of a series of video clips, each presenting a
traffic conflict situation from the driver’s point of view. You are
assessed on your ability to identify and respond to potential
dangers on the road

The test is only available online.
You will need a computer with broadband internet access, and
Adobe Flash Player (version
9.0.115 or later).

What does having a P2 licence mean?
You must adhere to the special rules for P2 drivers
Special rules for P2 drivers
- Must clearly display green P plates on front and rear of the
vehicle's exterior
- Must not exceed a blood alcohol level of 0.00%
- Cannot teach a learner driver
- Must not drive certain vehicles, including those with eight or
more cylinders, and turbo or super-charged engine that is not
diesel powered
- Must not accumulate more than four demerit
points in one year
What happens next?
Once you have held your P2 licence for at least two years, you
can progress to a full licence.
